"Your Thirty Minutes Starts...NOW!"
As a Food Network competitor, I swear one of the reasons I did so well under the time-crunch, was because that just seemed like the regular dinner race as a Single Dad.
You've just dropped off your daughter at singing lessons while you race off to coach your son's soccer team all while working from your phone in the car! Then you swoop everyone up to zoom home, only to hear the second you walk in, "How soon are we eating Dad?"
So, YES I can get all "Cheffy" but day-to-day?... I'm stretching a budget on CostCo and Trader Joes. YES I use premade Marinara Sauce! (But I also Doctor that up with Organic Ground Beef and a few other quick, easy, nutricious food hacks!)
This series, is about being a parent, cooking for picky eaters, doing it fast, easy, delicious, and all while pinching pennies.
(Good tunes in the background and a glass of wine don't hurt!)

Your Host & Chef on TV

Who is this Lee Abbott?
As a 7th Generation Californian, long before the "farm to table" movement it was back-pasture to table! Grandma was a classic Ranch cook, my Mom was an early health food adopter and our garden was half an acre full of fruit trees and vegetables.
Now...across the street lived the butcher, and I began working the Holiday rush at his shop when I was only 6 or 7 (you know...back when your parents put you to real work!). As that business grew into Santa Maria style BBQ, I naturally grew into catering, and so by around 11 or 12 - that's where I learned to make Salsa.

In my Teens I was 4000 calorie a day athlete and there is only so much broiled chicken you can eat! So, I started getting creative in the kitchen. Through UCLA and my years in Hollywood I was always that "after hours" friend who could take-on any refrigerator like an Iron Chef Challenge.

But my game really got elevated when I competed on Food Network's "All Star Academy" with the amazing fortune of getting blessed with Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli as my mentor and I made it all the way to the final $50,000 plate... so close!
With that visibility, the #1 frozen fajita company in the U.S. John Soules Foods, hired me to create and produce 64 of my original recipe "Speedy Gourmet" videos. The project was a smashing success that was pushing up to 6 Million Views.

So my day job is TV Production, by my passion is making people happy with great food. And now I'm the Dad of a beast athlete 6'7" 16 year old son who is eating me out of house and home, and all the jocks know they can get fed by Cash's Dad - and I LOVE to do it.
This series is to share some of the tricks I've learned along the way.

We Have Distribution!
Food Network has lost it's Soul. True foodies, cooks and epicurean travelers are tired of competition reality shows - they want MEAT on the bone.
Basil & Salt Magazine partnered with Endorphin Films has distribution with a home on ROKU with a global reach of over 90 million active accounts. Plus, after the initial streaming release upon ROKU the series will be syndicated across Amazon, Tubi, Hulu, and literally dozens of other popular streaming opportunities for many years to come.
Basil & Salt TV Productions is launching with multiple other powerhouse Chefs in the food world, such as Food Network legends Gina Neely and Rocco Dispirito. And, if a viewer arrives to the channel via one Chef... they are introduced to our next one... and the rising tide floats all Chef boats!

And this is a hybrid of distribution, combining the mass viewership of Streaming Services, WITH the agility and quick-clip strength of a progressive Social Media push.
Lee Abbott and Endorphin Films are currently in development for three (3) other full TV Series with Basil & Salt Productions. It's going to be a Tasty Year!

We're Looking for Partners!
FULL RIGHTS to REUSE & REPURPOSE
ANY & ALL ASSOCIATED MEDIA.
As an independent production, vs. Food Network or Travel Channel, our Producers have the enormous benefit of literally being able to GIVE our sponsors all of their media to do whatever they so choose with it.

From full edited segments, to Social Media clips, to re-editing your own content from the footage, to pulling single frames of raw video for a print campaign, to even requesting certain segments highlighting your brand.
You pay for it - you co-create it - you co-own it.

Our Producers are veterans in crafting creative stories to maximize how your brand can integrate seamlessly.

Come join this Single Dad for Dinner
Our Host Lee Abbott is known for his enormous heart and easy connections with folks from all walks of life. He knows what it is like to be a single, overwhelmed parent, and not wanting your kids to eat junk. And if there is one thing he's done right as a parent, it is always saying "YES" when his kids ask him to cook.

By the way... that dish right there... is Lee's Rosemary, Raspberry, Rosé Reduction over French Lamb "Popsicles". This is his kinda food, and he loves it when a kid says, "I don't usually eat this kind of food - but it's SO GOOD!"

(Oh and YES.... Partner VIPs are welcome on set and can even join in on the fun). We hope you join us at the table.
